We parked at the west entrance to this temple, the Jambukeshwara, and have already walked through one gopuram and are approaching the second. When we were two or three years old, we necessarily looked up to adults. We never really outgrow that habit of being impressed by big things as, for example, standing before a gopuram symbolizing the home of the gods. That home is atop Mt. Kailash, which is a real mountain about 300 miles northeast of Delhi. Intereresting hike, but you'd have to get past the main wall of the Himalaya, with Nanda Devi smack in front you.","width":3072,"height":4080,"aspect":0.7529,"orientation":"portrait","layoutHint":"beside_text","srcThumb":"https://wtbl.nyc3.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/ea49f4da68c09da3bca57acd446967f9","srcSmall":"https://wtbl.nyc3.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/64195464d876854cc00708b9ccb7ab67","srcMedium":"https://wtbl.nyc3.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/4106cb452055f04ff7dabe7e8c198fa0","srcLarge":"https://wtbl.nyc3.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/fecdbe82b1689b1f81e94b2bae290c60","srcOriginal":"https://wtbl.nyc3.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/fecdbe82b1689b1f81e94b2bae290c60","altText":"We're less than a mile from the larger for my taste too large Ranganatha Temple.
