Notes on the Geography of Poland

The first three sets of pictures were taken about 1995 on a trip to the agricultural estates that were visited periodically during the 1920s and 30s by Sir E. John Russell, at that time the director of the Rothamsted Experiment Station, which is still at Harpenden, north of London. All the estates he knew survived, though their aristocratic owners were displaced--sometimes fatally--during or after World War II. The two final sets were taken early in 2013.
