Khaemhet was overseer of granaries of Upper and Lower Egypt.
Approach to the tomb.
Remodelled entrance. The tomb was discovered in 1842.
Inside, a panorama of plowing and hoeing.
Supervising field laborers.
Fat cattle, shown so small that they hardly rise to the knee. The herders carry papyrus rolls with accounts of the herds.
A grain-transport ship unloads at Thebes. The handles of the oars are carved with images of the king.
A worker drinks from a skin tied to a tree.
Horses pull a chariot.
Khaemhet inspects things from his folding stool.
On a less mundane note, Khaemhet, on the left, bows before Amenophis III, whose image was moved long ago to Berlin. Behind Khaemhet, officials show their respect for him.
Khaemhet makes an offering; field workers to left.
