world pictures Brazil: São Paulo

Some of the streets of this old core have been pedestrianized, including this one, Quinze de Novembro. (The name mark Republic Day and the abdication of Dom Pedro in 1889.) The palazzo on the left now belongs to the Santander Bank. Don't overlook the hanging streetlights. The lights installed here in 1907 were some of the first in the country.
